See below.

van halen 1978

the inner sleeve of van halen's first studio recording is amazing,
i got inspired by the photography and had a bad idea to paint a couple of portraits.
a tribute to the original van halen,
and two of my favorite artist from the original line up.
edward van halen & david lee roth
here is a shitty photo of the sleeve
if for some unfortunate reason you dont own it.

Made some memories.

Skating an old spot when some dude named MikeV showed up with some other guy they call The Kid. Bout shat myself and felt like I remember feeling when I was 13 at the Bones Brigade tour in the Kroger parking lot. Just a bunch of regular dudes skating around. Not from the area and probably not wanting to talk to groms at skateparks, I gladly hosted a few spots. Surreal.

dear diary

got me a new tire, commander 2. michelin rubber proves to be amazing, but usually i cant afford it.
been ridin dunlop police tires forever, get about 7 thousad miles out of them max.
when i heard about this tire claiming to ride 10 thousand+ miles.. i had to geat me one.
plus with a name like commander 2 i had to try this thing out.
stopped by to see my old friend today -roady  he mounted and balanced my tire for me,
we started talkin shop talk. i machined a sheave for this machine a while back so, i asked if he had the lathe operatable yet, he gets all excited and says yeah man- wanta check it out...
notice: the long bar on the back is the spindle on switch,
this is dangerous as hell. my old lathe is similar. reaching over the work to turn spindle on, was an old bad idea.

turns out this exact model hendy machine was in the original hd factory shop-the little building was destroyed, the shop was torn down a while back but then re-assembled in the smithsonian. cool piece of equipment to have,
i enjoy hanging out at his shop sometimes, its like being in an old motorcycle museum, only better.
so many bikes/parts i want in there.
he had magazine laying around with a picture of the museum replica, i took a photograph of it. american history educational.
